Bates Motel is a font inspired by the classical horror/thriller genre and was created from random bits of scrap wood found at the back of a hardware store. The Elephant animation was based on the movie by Gus Van Sant. After watching the movie, I realized that there are constantly shots of wood in the background, whether it be natural of fake. The movie is based on not only the columbine shootings but also the trials and tribulations of High School in America. Wood itself is not always perfect, there are all kinds of tones, marks and flaws much like the characters portrayed in the movie.
